"Did anyone else have trouble getting help from the staff?"
I was disappointed with my visit. The staff weren’t very helpful when I needed assistance, and it made the whole experience frustrating. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I’m curious if other people had the same issue.

"Coffee was way too bitter"
I don’t know... the coffee just tasted really burnt and kind of watery at the same time. For the price, I expected a lot better. I ended up leaving most of it because I just couldn’t get through it

"I went in thinking it would..."
I went in thinking it would be a chill, relaxed spot, but the whole vibe felt kind of all over the place. The decor made it seem like it wanted to be cozy, but then it was loud, cramped, and the staff seemed rushed, so it didn’t feel very welcoming. I kept trying to give it a chance, but it was hard to enjoy anything with all the noise and that hectic energy. Just wasn’t my kind of atmosphere, and I ended up leaving quickly.

"Opening times were wrong?!"
I showed up because the website said it was open, but when I got there, half the place looked shut?! really frustrating after making the trip in. It can’t be that hard to keep the opening times updated. I won’t bother going back.

"Not great if you’re bringing a dog"
I came in with my dog and it just felt awkward the whole time. I had a simple request and it felt like it was ignored, which was frustrating. Didn’t feel very welcoming, so I probably wouldn’t bother coming back.

"Dessert was a letdown"
I was hoping the cake would be decent, and at first I thought maybe it was just a little dry, but no—it tasted bland and kind of old. I’d come back for other food maybe, but dessert? Probably not ordering that again...

"Felt brushed off"
I just felt ignored the whole time, like I was trying to get a simple answer and it somehow turned into me feeling like I was bothering them. The replies I did get came off rude too, maybe they didn’t mean it that way, I don’t know, but that’s definitely how it felt on my end.

"Nice spot, but the drinks didn’t really grab me"
The place itself looks nice, but I have to admit I was mostly paying attention to the drinks menu, and that’s where it felt a bit underwhelming. I expected a better choice of beers or at least a few cider options, but it all seemed limited and kind of samey. I’d maybe go back to try the food, but probably not if I was just going out for drinks.

"Checkout was more hassle than expected"
I tried paying on mackie-mayor.co it wasn’t simple at all. Some of the wording made it sound like the process would be quick and straightforward, but it really wasn’t. The payment options felt limited, and the checkout dragged on longer than it should have. I kept having to go back and double-check details, which got annoying fast. Maybe it’s fine for other people, but for me it was a hassle. Paying for an online order should be the easy part.

"Queues kind of ruined it"
I went to Mackie Mayor and, I don’t know why, but it felt like we spent most of the visit just standing in queues. It took ages to order, then there was even more waiting around for the food. I get that it was busy, but it still felt a bit badly managed. The place itself is really nice inside, to be fair, but the waiting just took the shine off it for me. I probably wouldn’t rush back unless they get the queues sorted.

"Left Still Hungry"
i left Mackie Mayor still feeling hungry. The food tasted decent enough, but the portions were way too small for the price. It felt more like a snack than an actual meal. Maybe it’s fine if you’re just after something light, but for me it didn’t feel like good value and was a bit disappointing

"Dirty Tables: The Main Course, Apparently"
Our table basically became a museum exhibit of used plates. Nobody came to clear anything for what felt like forever, so we just sat there admiring the mess. Super relaxing, obviously.

"Menu felt a bit too limited"
I had a look at the menu before heading over and... it just didn’t really grab me. There were a few things that sounded nice, but not loads of options, especially if you’re a bit of a picky eater. We ended up going somewhere else in the end. A shame really, because I was hoping it would be a good shout.

"A bit too far out"
It was okay, but honestly... it felt too out of the way. Like, not terrible or anything. Just kind of inconvenient. If you're already nearby, sure. But I wouldn't go out of my way for it again.

"Not very comfortable"
Umm, the hard benches kind of ruined the experience for me. I wanted to enjoy it, but after a while it was just too uncomfortable to sit there.

"Drinks were kinda disappointing"
I was let down by the cocktails tbh. They tasted watery and weak, like there was barely any alcohol in them. Not really what I was expecting.

I was disappointed because there wasn’t anything vegan I could actually eat. I don’t mind paying a bit more when there are decent options, but in this case it felt like a waste to even stop in...

I tried ordering from Mackie-mayor, but the checkout process really put me off. The pages kept hanging, the delivery info wasn’t very clear, and I had to enter my details twice. After a while I started worrying I was being led into something dodgy or might get fooled into paying without knowing what was actually happening. In the end, I just gave up. Definitely not a smooth or reassuring experience.
